Emmanuel Frossard to be new Steering Committee President of NRP 68
In May 2014, the Research Council of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) appointed Emmanuel Frossard, Professor of Plant Nutrition at ETH Zurich, as President of the Steering Committee of the National Research Programme "Sustainable Use of Soil as a Resource" (NRP 68).
The soil scientist Emmanuel Frossard is originally from France and has been Professor of Plant Nutrition at the Institute for Plant Sciences at ETH Zurich since 1994. He will take up his new post as President of the Steering Committee on 1 September 2014. He will particularly focus on the continued development of the programme and contribute significantly to the formulation of the synthesis.
Frossard takes over the presidency from Lorenz Hurni, who led the National Research Programme on an interim basis from November 2013 and who will remain in the Steering Committee of the NRP 68.
