Resignation of president of NRP 68 Steering Committee
As of 31 October 2013, Josef Zeyer resigned as president of the Steering Committee of NRP 68 for professional reasons.
At its meeting of 10 December 2013, the National Research Council appointed Prof Lorenz Hurni, hitherto member of the Steering Committee, as the president ad interim for six months, retroactively as of 1 November 2013. A definitive successor as of May 2014 has not yet been designated.
Before resigning, Prof Zeyer was president for two years, starting in late 2011. With his outstanding knowledge in his field and personal commitment he shaped the preliminary work and the launch of the NRP 68. The Swiss National Science Foundation thanks Prof Zeyer for his efforts and wishes him all the best for the future.
