NRP 68 has established a basis for a sustainable use of soil in Switzerland. To this end, both the ecological and economic performance of the soil was taken into account. The concept of ecosystem services makes it possible to value soil functions and their contribution to human well-being.
The research teams of NRP 68 present instruments for the assessment of soil functions and strategies for a sustainable use of soil, as well as further results from NRP 68.
Raphaël Charles presents the thematic synthesis TS1 "Soil quality as the basis for food production", Frank Hagedorn presents the thematic synthesis TS2 "Soil and Environment" and Armin Keller presents the thematic synthesis TS4 "Soil Information Platform Switzerland SIP-CH".
